Knitting Socks From the Toe Up
Tuesday,  November 9 & Tuesday, November 16                                         6:00 – 8:00 pm
OR Wednesday, November 10 & Wednesday, November 17               9:30 am – 11:30 am

£40 per person
Most sock patterns go from the cuff down. But knitting socks from the toe up means no grafting! Plus, you can try on the sock as you knit and you won’t run out of yarn before the foot is finished. And many knitters swear that toe-up socks just plain feel more comfortable, too. This workshop is suitable for knitters who already know how to knit socks from the cuff down (whether you use dpns or circular needles) and those who haven’t tried knitting socks before. And it’s the perfect excuse to use colourful, self-striping sock yarn.  Tuition includes a copy of the reference book Toe-Up 2-At-A-Time Socks.

Finishing School
Tuesday, November 23 & Tuesday, November 30                                        6:00 – 8:00 pm
OR Saturday, December 4                                                                  10:30 am – 3:00 pm
£40 per person

Do you love to knit but drag your feet when it comes to sewing up your projects? Would you like your finished garments to look more professional?  Or is your perfect pattern the one that doesn’t call for picking up stitches? If so, this 2-part workshop is for you. We’ll learn how to pick up stitches for collars and button bands, sew seams invisibly using the mattress stitch, fit in sleeves, make buttonholes, shape shoulders using short rows and more. There will be a small amount of knitting homework to complete before the first class. Plus, you will need to bring a project with you that needs finishing. Please note: tuition includes a copy of the book Finishing Techniques for Hand Knitters.

Cables Untangled

£40 per person

Do you love the look of Aran sweaters but think cables are too difficult? This workshop will show you how easy cables really are. By knitting four sample cable squares which can turned into a cushion, you will learn to decipher cable instructions and read cable charts in a knitting pattern.
