Manos del Uruguay, a full member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO
), is commited to improving the lives of women in rural Uruguay. Manos Del Uruguay was founded by a
group of women in 1968 to provide jobs for women in their own communities by producing handicrafts using traditional
methods. More than 40 years later, 17 Manos del Uruguay co-operatives spin, dye, knit and produce finished
garments for sale throughout the world.
